The Whole Child Health Alliance recently released Advancing the Key Elements of Whole Child Health: State Case Studies and Policy Recommendations to highlight how Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Washington implement whole child health approaches to help children thrive. The report also includes policy recommendations to spread and scale what works across the U.S.Read it here: https://lnkd.in/eQ9A7Whk#WholeChildHealth #ChildHealthPolicy #WellBeyondMedicine

When discussingNemours Children's Health, the question often arises: What does it mean when you say Nemours is focused on going 'Well Beyond Medicine'? It's more than just a tagline. It reflects our steadfast commitment to positively impact the 80% of what affects children's health outside a hospital or doctor's office. Research underscores the impact of diverse factors on children's well-being, from community influences to housing and food security. Comprehensive support is essential as sectors like education and housing often face funding gaps. Community organizations and policymakers' involvement is vital in addressing disparities. Our collaboration with the Whole Child Health Alliance exemplifies this dedication as we work together to advance policy recommendations, ensuring every child thrives. Oral health is a crucial part of overall health. Unfortunately, children and adults across Nevada with intellectual or developmental disabilities face barriers to effective oral health care. When individuals with disabilities are unable to receive oral health services, that can result in pain, poor health outcomes, the need for emergency care and costly procedures.Policymakers and community leaders can help ensure that equal access to oral health care in Nevada becomes a reality—which in turn will realize a significant return on investment for Nevada taxpayers.Get details about the need at the national and state levels at https://lnkd.in/etRR3tq4
